Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling salted water, then drain. Tip the spaghetti back into its pan, spoon half of the tomato sauce over it and mix well. Finish with chopped parsley and more parmesan, if you like. To make the meatballs, combine the minced beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, lemon rind, Parmesan cheese, egg and salt and pepper to taste in a medium bowl.

- In a big bowl, mix minced meat, breadcrumbs, parmesan, salt, egg, chilli flakes, oregano and parsley
- Knead the mixture well together and make equal size balls. Shallow fry the meatballs in olive oil until cooked from all sides
- For Spaghetti sauce
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil. Add onions and saute until translucent
- Add bay leaf, tomatoes puree and salt. Mix well
- Add tomato sauce and simmer the entire sauce mixture until it starts thickening
- Add meatballs to sauce. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes
- In a serving plate, add cooked spaghetti. Top with meatballs in sauce. Garnish with grated parmesan or any cheese, oregano and dried parsley. Serve warm
